PERRY, John Basil

The funeral mass for Basil Perry of Charlottetown was celebrated Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico. Rev. Frank Jay presided, proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by Randy Perry and Tracey Sark. The first reading, from Isaiah, was proclaimed by Joan Peters. The prayers of the faithful were led by Nancy Doucette. The cross bearer was Curtis Gallant. Altar servers were Mona Doiron, Vernon Buote and Norman Gallant. Usher was Joe Pineau. Norman Peters and Donnie Gallant assisted Father Jay as eucharistic ministers. Music was provided by Stella Maris choir with Sister Phyllis Gallant, CND, as organist and Armand LeClair as song leader. Hymns were: Entrance, Be Not Afraid; Psalm, The Lord Is My Shepherd, with Armand LeClair as cantor; offertory, Peace is Flowing Like A River; communion, Here I Am, Lord; commendation, Songs Of The Angels; and recessional, How Great Thou Art. Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends who attended. Pallbearers were Carl Gallant, Cyril Gallant, Terry Gallant, Ken Peters, Carl Pineau and Joseph Saulnier. Interment took place in Stella Maris Cemetery where Father Jay conducted the committal service. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
