PERRY, Madelyene Mary

The funeral service for Madelyene Mary Perry of Summerside, P.E.I. was held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from the East Prince Funeral Home then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside where the funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Brian MacDougall and assisted by Deacon Cyrus Gallant. The pall was placed by her close friend Jean Coughlin and her niece Betty Arsenault. The readings were read by Betty Arsenault and Linda Balaz. The Gospel was proclaimed by Deacon Gallant and Rev. MacDougall delivered the homily. The prayers of the faithful were led by Jean Coughlin. Hymns sung by members of the church choir under the direction of Kay Profit were: "Be Not Afraid"; "Peace is Flowing like a River"; "Here I am Lord"; and "Sing With all the Saints in Glory". Organist was Geraldine Hynes. Cross bearer was George Olscamp; candle bearers were Everett Durant and Clarence Doyle; incense bearer was Marcel Gallant; ushers were Vivian Gallant and Millie Thomarat; and parking attendants were Gordie Arsenault and Patsy MacArthur. Pallbearers were Ronnie Arsenault, Douglas Perry, Hoss MacKinnon, Michael Perry, Jim Handrahan, and Art Coughlin. Flower bearers were Betty Arsenault and Ivy Currie. Also in attendance and forming an honour guard were members of the St. Paul's Church CWL. Interment took place in the church cemetery with Father MacDougall officiating. A prayer service was conducted at the funeral home on Monday afternoon by members of St. Paul's CWL under the direction of Doris DesRoches and assisted by Louise Doiron and Marcella Bernard. Arrangements were entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside.
