The funeral mass for Frank Peters, formerly of Mount Stewart, was celebrated at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Stewart, on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, with Father Maurice Praught officiating. The pall was placed by his four daughters: Theresa Gallant, Winnifred Murphy, Bernice MacPherson and Elaine O'Connor. Great-grandson, Miles MacPhee, proclaimed the first reading and Gail Collins proclaimed the second reading. The music was provided by the church choir accompanied by organist, Barbara McKenna. The entrance hymn was Amazing Grace; psalm, Shelter Me O God; offertory, Come To The Water; communion, How Great Thou Art; song of farewell, Songs Of The Angels; and the recessional, Like A Shepherd. Pallbearers were Allie Doucette, Alfie Doucette, Billy Doucette, Clifford MacIntyre, Bernie MacIntyre and Fraser Wells. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were staff of Corrigan Lodge and residents of Lions Crescent. Interment followed in St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, with Father Praught conducting the graveside service. The funeral was under the direction of the North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
