The funeral for Daisy Lillian Phillips, of Lady Slipper Villa, O'Leary, formerly of Ellerslie, wife of the late Bertram Phillips was held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from the Bideford-Conway United Church, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Pam Reidpath officiating. The Acripture readings were Romans 8: 35, 37-39, Psalm 23, and John 1: 1-5. Words of remembrance were given, on behalf of the family, by Carl Millar. A poem was read by Doris Kelly. A special tribute was given by Rev. MacDonald. The choir under the direction of organist Barbara Burleigh sang "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee" and "In The Bulb". Lyndon Hardy sang "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" as a solo. The pallbearers were Carl Kelly, Mark Phillips, Darren Phillips, Lloyd Phillips, Brian Hook, and Donald MacArthur. The flower bearers were Samantha Dawson, Mitchell Phillips, Colleen Snow, and Brittany Kelly. Interment followed in the Freeland United Church Cemetery. In attendance were representatives of the Bideford-Conway UCW.
