The funeral for Elmer Phillips, husband of Eve Isenor and the late Angela (Moore) Phillips, of Summerside, was held on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where service was conducted at 10 a.m. by Rev. Dr. Andrew Richardson. Words of remembrance were given by Paul H. Schurman. Soloist James Hodge rendered "The Lord's My Shepherd" and "Amazing Grace". Organist was Christine Anderson Gallant. Attending the funeral service was the Honorable Gerard Greenan. Interment will take place later in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. On Tuesday evening, members of the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion held a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home conducted by Comrade George Olscamp. Sergeant-at-Arms was Comrade Irving Arsenault. Flagbearers were Comrades Leonard Arsenault and Earl Gallant. Last Post and Reveille were sounded by Comrade Paul Gallant.
