The funeral mass for Frances Roach was celebrated Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, with Fr. Jim Willick as chief celebrant, proclaiming the Gospel and delivering the homily. The pall was placed by children, Linda MacLeod, Mary Dunn and Joey and Edward Roach. The first reading was proclaimed by granddaughter, Vicki MacLeod, and the second reading was proclaimed by granddaughter, Melissa Dunn. Intercessory prayers were led by granddaughter, Joelene MacLeod. Music was provided by St. Simon and St. Jude choir with choir director, Vincent Doucette, ,and organist, Diane Handrahan. The hymns rendered were: Processional, Praise My Soul The King Of Heaven; Psalm, I Will Praise Your Name Forever; offertory, Prayer of St. Francis; communion, Christians Let Us Love One Another; incense, Song Of The Angels; and the recessional, Sing With All The Saints In Glory. Eucharistic ministers were Arlean Gallant and Don Theriault. The cross bearer was Louis Shea and the altar servers were Charles Bernard and Stephen Gallant. The incense bearer was James Hogan. Flowerbearers were granddaughters, Joelene and Vicki MacLeod, Megan and Sarah Roach and Melissa Dunn. Honorary pallbearers were everyone present. Pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin and Nathan MacLeod, Tyson and Trevor Dunn, Travis Roach, Mason Peters and Scott and Spencer Roach. Interment followed in the church cemetery, with Fr. Jim Willick conducting the graveside prayers. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
