The funeral for Eric E. Thompson of Lions Drive, Kensington, was held Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel, Kensington, where service was conducted at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. Linda Berdan and Rev. Alan Stewart. Remembrances were shared by his daughters Karen Bell and Janet Heaney and by his granddaughter Beverly Campbell. Fiddler Nathan Condon and guitarist Barry Thompson rendered the selections "Amazing Grace" and "Rosebud of Avondale." Soloist Linda Cousins rendered the selections "God of the Mountain" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow." Processional hymn was "Just As I Am." Congregational hymn was "One Day At A Time." Recessional hymn was "Softly and Tenderly." Pianist was Linda Paynter. Attending the funeral were members of the Kensington Presbyterian Church Ladies Guild, representatives of Kensington Meals on Wheels and members of Regent Chapter No. 52 Order of Eastern Star. Pallbearers were Gary Heaney, Adam Campbell, Steven Gray, Jim Thompson, Wayne MacIntyre, Everett Burt, David Burt and Raymond Shields. Flower bearers were granddaughters Beverly Campbell, Elizabeth Heaney and Natalie Heaney. Interment was in People's Cemetery, Malpeque.
