The funeral for Derrill R. (Diddles) Doyle was held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, from the Hennessey Funeral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Jacques Rigaud, who also delivered the homily. Daughters Vicki MacEwen and Jodi Al-Samawi read the lessons. His sister Geraldine Walker offered the prayers of intercession. The funeral mass was sung by the church choir under the direction of Mary Jenkins. The organist was Judy Donovan Whitty. During the mass they sang the processional hymn, Here I Am Lord, the offertory hymn, Be Not Afraid, the communion hymn, Come To The Water and the recessional hymn, How Great Thou Art. The church usher was Keith Wakelin. Interment later in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were representatives of DVA and Sisters of the Congregation of Saint Martha.
