Cox & Palmer PEI Fit Chick and Junior Strongman Competition

The 2009 Cox & Palmer PEI Fit Chick and Jr Strongman Competition was held on Saturday Aug 1 as a duo during the annual Prince County Exhibition.  Both men’s and women’s events included challenges such as the Stone Lift, Farmer’s Walk and Carry and Drag.  The top three Fit Chick Competition winners were Sarah McCrae in first (back left), Jamie McCue in second and Sumara Profit in third, while the top three Jr Strongman Competition winners were Johnny Doull in first (front left), Daniel MacDonald in second and Jason Smallman in third.  Major sponsors for the event were Cox & Palmer, Atlantic CAT and Kent Building Supplies.

John Ross Strang was a second time competitor this year in the 2009 Cox & Palmer Jr Strongman Competition.  The competition is a crowd favorite event held during the annual Prince County Exhibition.  Strang is shown here during the third task of the men’s portion of the competition, the 800 pound tire flip, which was four times his weigh in.  Strang completed six flips in 90 seconds.

Daniel MacDonald attempted and succeeded to lift the 280 pound stone in the Stone Lift event of the 2009 Cox & Palmer Jr Strongman Competition.  The Stone Lift was only one of the very demanding physical tasks throughout the competition which is held during the annual Prince County Exhibition.  The competition is a crowd favorite every year.  MacDonald was the second place Jr Strongman.

Hinchey’s worker Maryjo Campbell shown here at the dart booth has been part of Hinchey’s Rides and Amusements for eight years.  She kept cool on the hot exhibition days with cold drinks of water.
