Gas up, propane prices fall significantly

Motorists gassing up today will need to dig a little deeper into their pockets for the money following The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 am., Wednesday, Feb 1.
Gasoline prices increased by 1.5 cents per litre (cpl), while there were no changes in the price of furnace and stove oil. Meanwhile, diesel prices fell by one cent per litre. Propane prices fell even further, decreasing by 4.7 cpl for Superior Propane, by 5.1 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing and by 3.7 cpl for Kenmac Energy Inc.
Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 121.7 cpl to 123.8 cpl.
The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to be 106.3 cpl.
The Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on February 15, 2012.
